  • Monsters are dangerous objects encountered in Doodle Jump. When jumping into a monster, the Doodler falls off the platforms and the game ends. Monsters often move from side to side on a platform. In the beginning of the game, monsters appear on platforms along the side of the screen. They are usually small but grow larger as the game progresses. There are also some large flying monsters. Usually a player will have to jump from a set of exploding platforms, while the flying monster will gravitate up and across the screen. Most monsters can be killed by jumping on top of them. However, most larger monsters must be shot two to four times to kill. On the first time being shot, the monster's eyes will flash red lights. On the second time, the monster will be eliminated.

Monster MovementsEdit

Most monsters will move from side to side on a platform. Others will move back and forth across the screen, and flying monsters will continue to fly upward until shot or jumped on. When the doodle is in close proximity with a monster, a sound warning will begin to play, thus warning you of the coming monster.

Protections Against MonstersEdit

One precaution in the game can be taken againist monsters. The Shield, which is small circular badge with a shield insigna can render you invincible from monsters for a short time. When wearing a shield, the doodle is encased in a yellow sphere, and when jumping into a monster will not fall off the platform. After encountering your monster, the shield will flicker and fade, and you will again be vulnerable. Shields only appear in the Original and Halloween Versions.
